This charming Irish coming-of-age tale follows two best friends — one straight, one gay — from their youthful career ambitions to their entanglements with the law. Shane (Michael Legge, Angela’s Ashes) is a shy civil servant striking out on his own. Vincent (Alan Leech, Man About Dog) is a gay fashion design student looking for a roommate. When they cross paths, a friendship begins as Vincent helps pull Shane from his shell and sends him on the road to fabulousness. However, Shane becomes involved in drug running and falls for Vincent’s best friend Gemma (Amy Shiels, Veronica Guerrin). First-time writer-director David Gleeson has created an energetic and captivating tale of camaraderie, and Legge and Leech deliver career-making performances as initially mismatched roomies who become the best of friends.
